The function of hydraulic oil is to act as a vector to transfer energy and heat, lubricate, and fill the gaps between moving internal parts.
The hydraulic filter element removes solid particles, chemicals, water, air, and bacteria present in the circuit during the manufacture and assembly of the system, during machine servicing and maintenance, internal wear of the system, etc.
The media is, of course, the key to the best filtration of your system. Different media such as cellulose, synthetic, and metal, with different micron ratings ranging from 400µ to 1µ, from single to multiple layers, are available.
